Naturally I'm a very introverted person. I get overwhelmed by being surrounded by lots of people. That is why I finished my Christmas shopping somewhat early this year. I made the mistake of going to Target yesterday and Wal-mart today, the weekend after Christmas. After I leave I feel so exhausted and I can't wait to get out of there. I did get some good reading material from Wal-mart for myself and also, my dad got a gift card for my son, so I bought him some books. He has tons of clothes, thanks to me and some family and lots of toys, and then he'll get more for his birthday next month. I did buy him some cute clothes on sale at Old Navy for his birthday. I just love baby clothes. I'm so picky though, so the selection was limited..
Christmas Eve was spent with my mom's side of the family, at my aunt's house. We eat around 2 or 3pm and then open presents. Each year it seems to grow in size, so it was quite overwhelming and a very exhausting event, but still fun. I loved seeing my family!
Christmas morning we have breakfast at my grandparent's house, my dad's side. We eat then open presents and that's also a lot of fun. It's much smaller and more enjoyable. Christmas dinner we had some family and friends over, it was a lot of fun. I sometimes get a bit stressed having people over, just trying to make sure I came accommodate everyone and make sure the house looks nice and clean. It was Tristan's first Christmas and it was a wonderful one for us. :-) I've been a good mom trying to sort through all his new toys and put them together, it's quite annoying how some toys are packaged. It's quite handy to have Clint to put some of them together..
I'm starting to learn more often lately that I need to be more content with my life. Sometimes, I feel so overwhelmed with everything, like trying to take care of Tristan full time, taking care of my husband, taking care of the house, and just anything that affects us, as well. I forget so often how blessed I am. Sometimes, I just would like a break. Tonight was nice, my mom watched Tristan, so Clint and I could go out to dinner. I miss going to the movies. It seems like a rare treat anymore. However, the sacrifice is well worth it. I love being a mom! I know that at times I might be overwhelmed or not know what to do or how to fix something, but it always seems to have a way of working out. God is definitely watching out for us!
My cousin is pregnant and I'm so excited. They were married 5 1/2 years before getting pregnant, and they may just have one, so this baby is a big deal. :-) I've been looking through unisex baby clothes, so she could borrow them, since we're waiting until Tristan turns 2 before we get pregnant for #2..
I feel bad, but I'm getting tired of people telling us we need a dog right now. I do like dogs and we would like to get one, just several years from now. When the second child is 2 or 3, we'll consider it. There is someone close to me that has been married a few years and still has no intention of having children for a long time, if ever, tells me I need a dog. Ah! I'm having babies, that's enough to keep me busy. A dog will come when the children are old enough to appreciate it and when we have time to dedicate to it, so it won't be neglected. I don't want a puppy, maybe an older dog, not too old, but a calm dog, that can be a best friend to the children. :-) Please don't hate me for my personal feeling about dogs. I do like them, just not right now..
I can fit into some of my pre-pregnancy jeans now. :-) I'm seeing results and I've been slacking. Ah! So, I'm going to start back with exercising and making wiser decisions with my food choices. I want to look and feel better. Somehow being able to fit in my jeans, makes me want to shape up more than not being able to fit in them. I think having a fast crawler has been good exercise, haha. Speaking of which, he'll be 11 months old soon, time flies! Today, he held on to the coffee table and took side steps, trying to grab objects on the table, which is such progress!
Now that Christmas is over, I can focus on his party planning..
This will be the spring and summer of getting my home together. I'm getting more motivated. I want to get it done, so I can sit back and relax knowing my home looks good..
Well, that is all for now, of my randomness. Have a good rest of the weekend!

Hey!
Paul and I did make it to their wedding. We missed seeing you all. Mr. and Mrs. Blevins said it was Tristans bed time, so I understand.
I know how you feel about a dog. I had a student tell me right before the break "Mrs.Seufert.. I wasn't able to bring your present in." I said "Oh, ok" She says "I got you a puppy, but it's not old enough to leave it's mom yet".. I told her I lived too far away for a dog, but I"m thinking Ahh! I love dogs, but not right now. Please, not right now! I just don't have time. They are a lot of work.
It's good to see you blogging! :) I'm glad you hada good Christmas and Tristan has lots of new clothes and toys! :)
I hope you guys have a Happy New Years!
merry Christmas and happy new year!!! I loved catching up with your post. I get very overwhelmed sometimes too. Mainly I get overwhelmed when I want to spend time with my babies but I have a million things to clean up or do. Being a mom is a lot of work! I couldn't imagine having a dog right now! Even though I would love one I just couldn't take care of it. I rarely get a long hot bath! Just those quick Mama showers! haha!!
Hugs to you! I hope you have a superb evening!
