Christmas Festivities..

Hi! It's been a while since my last post, so I thought I would update a bit. I'm really not sure if anyone is reading my blog, so if its even just for me, that will do..

Naturally I'm a very introverted person. I get overwhelmed by being surrounded by lots of people. That is why I finished my Christmas shopping somewhat early this year. I made the mistake of going to Target yesterday and Wal-mart today, the weekend after Christmas. After I leave I feel so exhausted and I can't wait to get out of there. I did get some good reading material from Wal-mart for myself and also, my dad got a gift card for my son, so I bought him some books. He has tons of clothes, thanks to me and some family and lots of toys, and then he'll get more for his birthday next month. I did buy him some cute clothes on sale at Old Navy for his birthday. I just love baby clothes. I'm so picky though, so the selection was limited..

Christmas Eve was spent with my mom's side of the family, at my aunt's house. We eat around 2 or 3pm and then open presents. Each year it seems to grow in size, so it was quite overwhelming and a very exhausting event, but still fun. I loved seeing my family!

Christmas morning we have breakfast at my grandparent's house, my dad's side. We eat then open presents and that's also a lot of fun. It's much smaller and more enjoyable. Christmas dinner we had some family and friends over, it was a lot of fun. I sometimes get a bit stressed having people over, just trying to make sure I came accommodate everyone and make sure the house looks nice and clean. It was Tristan's first Christmas and it was a wonderful one for us.   :-) I've been a good mom trying to sort through all his new toys and put them together, it's quite annoying how some toys are packaged. It's quite handy to have Clint to put some of them together..

I'm starting to learn more often lately that I need to be more content with my life. Sometimes, I feel so overwhelmed with everything, like trying to take care of Tristan full time, taking care of my husband, taking care of the house, and just anything that affects us, as well. I forget so often how blessed I am. Sometimes, I just would like a break. Tonight was nice, my mom watched Tristan, so Clint and I could go out to dinner. I miss going to the movies. It seems like a rare treat anymore. However, the sacrifice is well worth it. I love being a mom! I know that at times I might be overwhelmed or not know what to do or how to fix something, but it always seems to have a way of working out. God is definitely watching out for us!

My cousin is pregnant and I'm so excited. They were married 5 1/2 years before getting pregnant, and they may just have one, so this baby is a big deal. :-) I've been looking through unisex baby clothes, so she could borrow them, since we're waiting until Tristan turns 2 before we get pregnant for #2..

I feel bad, but I'm getting tired of people telling us we need a dog right now. I do like dogs and we would like to get one, just several years from now. When the second child is 2 or 3, we'll consider it. There is someone close to me that has been married a few years and still has no intention of having children for a long time, if ever, tells me I need a dog. Ah! I'm having babies, that's enough to keep me busy. A dog will come when the children are old enough to appreciate it and when we have time to dedicate to it, so it won't be neglected. I don't want a puppy, maybe an older dog, not too old, but a calm dog, that can be a best friend to the children. :-) Please don't hate me for my personal feeling about dogs. I do like them, just not right now..

I can fit into some of my pre-pregnancy jeans now. :-) I'm seeing results and I've been slacking. Ah! So, I'm going to start back with exercising and making wiser decisions with my food choices. I want to look and feel better. Somehow being able to fit in my jeans, makes me want to shape up more than not being able to fit in them. I think having a fast crawler has been good exercise, haha. Speaking of which, he'll be 11 months old soon, time flies! Today, he held on to the coffee table and took side steps, trying to grab objects on the table, which is such progress!
Now that Christmas is over, I can focus on his party planning..

This will be the spring and summer of getting my home together. I'm getting more motivated. I want to get it done, so I can sit back and relax knowing my home looks good..

Well, that is all for now, of my randomness. Have a good rest of the weekend!

Getting things accomplished!

I just put Tristan down for a nap, so I thought I would write another blog, before I clean the house and start on some laundry..

Yesterday was quite the crazy day. When I normally wake up in the morning, I'm usually dragging, because Tristan wakes up a couple times during the night. I sat down on the couch with my phone beside of me, then I notice an hour or two later, I couldn't find it. So, Clint called it and we noticed it had fallen down in the couch, so while attempting to get it out, we ended up breaking in half. I felt bad, because I know I made Clint feel bad about breaking it, trying to get it out. I know he didn't mean to. I was just sad because the phone had so many pictures of Tristan on it, especially in the early part of his life, I cried a little. :-( Then, I just had to not think about it and know I had plenty of other pictures. Today, I got a new phone and it's quite amazing! The good thing is, it's still the same number and the cell phone employee was able to save all my contacts..

We did some more Christmas shopping yesterday, which was nice. I'm trying to get it all finished soon. I have a package of three items coming soon, for my niece and two nephews. I also, ordered a watch for my mom, which will be coming soon hopefully. Then, we just have four more people to buy for. We had so many on the list this year. I have wrapped all, but one of the presents we have, only because it's not wrap-able, I'll have to get a pretty and a large gift-bag for it. Before this holiday season, it's been many years since I've wrapped presents. I think having a child has made me want to start wrapping presents again, although gift-bags are just so convient most of the time. Some of the wrapping looks good, some of it, looks like a third grader wrapped it, haha. The Christmas cards that I finished last week, I finally sent them off today. I was going to send them off yesterday, but both post offices were packed full, so I bought stamps today at the grocery store and took care of them. I love the Christmas cards with pictures of the family, so does Tristan, he enjoys looking at them on the refrigerator. We'll have to do that one year. I'm so excited about seeing my brother and sister-in-law at Christmas. They live in Ohio, and I haven't seen them since May. They  don't have any children yet, just two dogs, one of them, I've met, he's so adorable and the other one is new. :-) We got them doggie treats..

This weekend will be pretty busy. We have family in from out of town, which is always fun. A friend of Clint's, for many years is getting married on Saturday night. The wedding starts at 7 pm, which is pretty late, when you have a small child. We're going to the wedding, but Tristan and I will not be able to stay for the reception. Clint may or may not go. I hope Tristan is quiet during the service, to be on the safe side, I'll sit in the back. My nephew Jeremiah will be 1 on Saturday. My brother and sister-in-law are going to have a party for him on Saturday at 1. I'm excited! I just love the little guy! We got him an outfit and a cute pirate gift-bag that comes with an eye patch, ha.

I'm excited about Tristan's first birthday party. I can't believe it'll be next month! I still need to figure out all the details of entertainment, food, and location. It's all rather exciting! I love putting together parties and such. With a friend's help, I'm going to have a diaper shower for a good friend of mine in a few months. She has three children and she's expecting twins! :-) I miss her so much, she's been very sick. I'm looking forward to visiting with her tonight, it's been too long. We've taken flowers once, and dinner a couple times, but I didn't want to invite myself over for a visit, I wanted her to let me know when she wanted company, and she did, so I'm going, yay!

Well, I better get off of here and start cleaning. Have a good week!

Updating..

I'm amazed how quickly time has flown by. Christmas is less than 3 weeks away! I'm so excited, I love the holiday season..

Tristan is 10 months old. He's quite the fast crawler. He gets into everything, we have to stay with him or put him in his Jeep walker all the time. He thinks 'no' means crawl faster. I usually shower when he's napping, unless Clint's home. He has four teeth. He can pull himself to a standing position, but he hasn't started walking yet. Poor guy, he currently has the sniffles. I'm hoping they'll pass soon. He has the most amazing smile and laugh, they always bring a smile to my face. I absolutely love being a mother! I'm excited about his first Christmas. We got him a couple toys that are for 12 month olds, so it'll be more challenging and hopefully fun too. We also got him some clothes and other random things. I love buying things for him. I'm so picky about what I buy for him to wear, he must look cute! :-) I need to make more plans for his first birthday party, super hero theme. He was superman for Halloween. He was so cute!

I'm so blessed to have Clint. He has been a wonderful husband and father. He's been so helpful to me throughout all the crazy-ness! He was able to go away for the weekend for a bachelor party trip. I'm glad he went, even though we missed him lots! I'm so in love with him! We'll be married 2 years next month! :-)

We finally put up our Christmas tree tonight. We delayed for a while because of Tristan and I'm sure we won't keep it up too long after Christmas. We'll have to make sure he doesn't get in to any mischief with the tree, haha. We have some random decorations around the living room and dinning room. We have a wreath on the front door and a cute snowman rug. I'm not much into lots of decorations outside, I do enjoy looking at others that go a little Griswald-ish (Christmas Vacation). I've enjoyed listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas movies..

Connecting.. There are just some people that I just don't connect with. We get along fine, and we can make civil conversation, but we don't hang out much at all. Unfortunately, some of my friends have been harder to get together with, due to pregnancies, new marriages, long distance, work, etc. I'm still trying to make an effort..

I feel like I've become a better wife after having Tristan. I clean more, even though it does get messy with toys all over the floor, its pointless cleaning up until he goes to bed. I'm cooking more and just so many other things. I finished my Christmas cards days ago, just need to get to the post office. I stayed in all weekend because Tristan was sick. I need to finish Christmas shopping and wrapping presents soon, so I can relax until Christmas. :-) I've learned so much. I know that I don't have to have a perfect house and be perfect at everything. I'm learning to laugh more at my crazy-ness of not remembering how to spell simple words or forgetting a simple word for something. I enjoy reading again! I read a book series and I enjoy reading to Tristan, when he pays attention, ha.

Well, that's enough for now, sorry for the long post..

Starting again.

I'm coming back to the blogging world. I just feel like there is so much on my mind and heart. There might be times of vulnerability and times of just randomness. I stopped because of different reasons, but I've missed it. I hope my friends will continue reading and commenting..
